Experiencing Your Own Wholeness

For my Drums I work with hollowed tree trunks and use salted hides wherever possible. They have their organic ‘Natural’ shape and will never be identical, giving a very unique and personal touch to the Drum. After the hide is dried it is treated with essential oils, keeping the Drum alive and in good shape. Real hides work with the air humidity, the higher the humidity the less tense the Drum hide will be. I then bless the four elements in the Drum which helps to open up the Drum for its caretaker’s usage. A personal story of its creation will accompany your Drum.

Balanced Emotion of Self

Balanced Emotion of Self

The Shell helps with the connection of Water, Earth and Heaven and supports the letting go and go with the flow. The large Sodalite was used to help with the emotional un-balance to bring peace and structure/balance as well as function in all emotions. A stone to help you settle your thoughts. The four feathers support the overall effect of the stone. The Swan feather helps to stand for Self and your Being, bodily awareness. While the Peacock represents the ‘Eye’s’ of Wisdom supporting to restore balance in thoughts. Special thought to your feet to ground and connect with the Earth. The 2 Kestrel feathers represent Power and Oversight. This bird is one of the few that can ‘pray’ in the air, so stay focussed on something from great height and helping to make solid judgements.
Racing Heart

Racing Heart

This drum had a very intriguing journey. I was asked to make a hair-on horse drum for someone who saw an example more than a year ago. She held another Horse Drum I made which was sold already and she felt her Heart racing with excitement. I found a beautiful piece of Narrow Loaf Ash and started to make the hoop. The shape was not perfectly round and not evenly thick but it felt that that this was how it will be. The process took long due to the drying process, the long cold winter preventing the process. When the Hoop was finished the weather turned for better and left a day to be able to cut the salted hide. A gorgeous combination it was. While soaking the hairs came off while it was intended to be a hair-on drum. But all was said it was okay. So while sitting with this happening and finishing the drum the most beautiful Drum was born. Starting almost white when wet and turned into light brown tanned Horse Drum, Racing Heart.
Crying Wolf

Crying Wolf

A drum made for strong Wolf Healing in mind. Supporting the incorporation of Teachings and Wisdom. A drum that helps to clear Thoughts and straighten your mind by allowing the Wisdom from Wolf or Teacher to speak their Truth so we can let go and listen.
